we spent a couple of days on the westernmost coast of France, this area is called finistère in french and can be translated by "where the land ends". land of ocean tales, generations of fishermen & women crying for their lost-to-the-sea-husbands, churches, lighthouses, and where the breton language survives most strongly as a spoken language (the road signs are bilingual french/breton).
we packed light, filled a simple basket with a few GF snacks, a bag with underwears, toothbrushes, some books for L & a new crochet project for me. we stayed in le conquet at a nice & comfortable hotel that looked more like a guest house (10 rooms all different) more about it soon.
shrubs of hawthorn were in full bloom everywhere, the sun was shining, we soaked in the big blue... nothing planned, no schedule. it felt good, it felt like... vacations !
