summer postcard #2

island of groix. according to the weather forecast services friday 20th of august was supposed to be a  very sunny day, sunshine & blue sky. so the day before only (which seemed risk-free) i booked a ferry crossing for L. & i. we wanted to spend the afternoon of one of the only convex beaches in western europe. a beach that sometimes "moves" (they say it moved by approx 800 meters in 15 years) due to two tidal currents. you can see better from the sky here

we had grilled sardinas for lunch in one of the harbour restaurants, got to tame two seagulls on the beach, had a much longer hike than expected, hot chocolate before leaving the island, it was a good day...

...except for the gray sky. all day. and mist starting (see background on the picture below) as we took the ferry back home, rain in the evening (meteofrance, who do you want to fool ?!)
no more. shortly after this day, i packed a few bags and off to south eastern france we drove. on the doctor's recommendations : a dry & sunny weather, which i should have followed earlier...
