there
so far and yet so close. windy outside & warm inside. the ever changing sky. sheeps & horses. ocean & mountains. wild & friendly. hello colm. hello bill. hello basil.
some photos that remind me how good these little vacations were & the benefits you get from a few days away from the routine...
So true. I treasure such days.
ReplyDeletei'm agree with you... and I need it!
ReplyDeletelove your photos, must be such great days for you!
Wow! These landscapes are breathtaking! I'm green with envy ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe plaids for comfortable warmth.
ReplyDeleteAnd such a beautiful open landscape.
That was really a nice time.
Hugs, Pauline
What beautiful photos. I just scan my Ireland photos and there are many beautiful memories. I liked in Ireland especially the many dogs that were so customs. The photo of the dog I like best.
Beau pays ça donne envie d'y aller!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Where did you spend your vacations? It looks like some magical places.
ReplyDeletethank you.
ReplyDeleteeva vercauteren : we went to Connemara and yes it was magical. my photos don't do justice to the incredible scenery & light.
Kristin : yes the dog was a sweetheart, it touched my heart in a special way. look at his eye !!
the last image sums it up, really...
ReplyDeletemhmmmm.
n♥
I love the colors and the calmness you are able to capture. I need a vacation too...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Valerie!!!! I love coming on here for eye candy :)
ReplyDeleteI guess, I need vacation(s), too :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad, that you had a good and cozy time....
And this dog, ahhhhhhh!
Beautiful moody pictures! At first I thought it was Iceland! The dog's eyes are so lovely!! Wow!
ReplyDeleteOh how scrumptious Valerie. The blanket photo is my favorite. It has been so awful here, raining for five days straight and cold! I can't wait to go to New York on Monday for vacation. The weather is looking pretty nice there. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteValerie - I really appreciate all your kind thoughts regarding "my predicament". I came home from a very long day, sat down to go to your blog, and ZAP - the storms came in again. We have been having severe tornadoes and the power has been sketchy. Gotta go. Love your photos. Carolina
ReplyDeleteI am back. I wanted to share with you on why I think everyone likes your photos so much. They are dripping with "mood" - every single one of them. The clouds have such power, the blankets- I can almost sense the day, the sweet kindness in the dogs eyes, the quiet moment with a book... they all have more mood than the photos we normally see. Although we haven't been "there" to the exact location and moment where these photographs were taken, it is like they are part of our memories. They are VERY successful images. Before I go, let me just add that I also liked seeing your self portrait in the previous post. When all the construction and remodeling is finished, I would like to see another one of you in your space. Carolina
ReplyDeleteThese photos are so quiet but I love them, especially the hues, so calming.
ReplyDeleteNice memories, Valerie.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you commented on my blog because I came back here to yours to check if you had updated it since I last looked and you have! The place you went to is beautiful and, as always, you got some amazing pictures. Now I have your blog on my blogroll so I can see when you update. :o) I'm glad you had a good, relaxing time.
ReplyDeleteI so agree, such a little change from routine can go so far. What a beautiful place, and yet my favorite of your photos shared here are the wool blankets and your girl resting and reading. Something so physical and warm about them. Or maybe I really need a rest :)
ReplyDeletethank you for your visit.
ReplyDeletewoolf : you're right it ws supposed to be a relaxing stay, no marathon or insanely early mornings... and it was !
Thumbly : go if you can. even a weekend away is good.
tania : i'd love to go to iceland too !! it's on my travel wish list... but definitely not the same price ++ for the flights !!
raining sheep : oh NYC ?! wonderful, I hope you have a great time there ! will you share a few photos ?
the muse of the day : thank you i'm very touched. it is true that i'm a very enthusiast person, never bored about life, but i also like quiet moments & no rush... maybe it shows thru my photos i don't know... i hope you feel better and don't have to go again on the dentist chair !
Tiff : i did the same. i don't use any bloglines/lovin, so this way i can follow updates :)
abby : thank you. i usually try to illustrate ALL that was part of the vacation ;) the blankets were for sale at the wool museum in Leenane. We have some similar in lambswool from Wales. I'm sure you deserve a break... maybe a weekend off as a start ? please take care of yourself.
A beautiful set of photos!!
ReplyDeletethanks so much. it was hard to get some focus because of the (strong) wind.
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos :) you really capture the moodiness of the place.
ReplyDeleteoooh Nicole ! what a blog you have ! i have bookmarked it.... love love love your awesome photos ! ad good addresses for when we go (my daughter & i) to New-york
