28 days later

years ago, M and i chose not to be wireless meaning these past weeks i had to decide between staying indoors in front of a computer screen or outdoors making the most of the sun (at last... the sun !) which one do you think i went for ?
we collected plenty of shells to make candles as a rainy day activity later || ate out : tapas, pizzas, pancakes, picnics || learned how to make some paint from plants, cosmetics from flowers, to eat more seaweeds  || ignored phone & tv & house chores || listened to live music at cafés || met nice people from florida & england || stayed up late night & woke up late morning || spent plenty of time in the ocean which was (for once) warmer than the early evening air || and one more week the car will be full of sand & beach towels... the august sunsets are definitely some of the most beautiful !

  3. That is wonderful! I'm glad you finally got some sunny days too!!! We had a very warm weekend (too warm and so humid too!)... but now it's getting back to normal. I like this kind of weather, not too warm but not cold yet either. It's sunny too. It'll be September in a couple of days... time flies!!! Enjoy! -mervi

  11. Sounds like a perfect summer vacation at home. Couldn't be better! In my area we have foolish kind of "april" weather...But I don't mind, I have to pack anyway and have to stay inside, hehehe... ...
By the way, your new bracelets are wonderful :-)

  12. Oh, I see you have there a vegetarian cafe, how great! You know, we live in a city and just have 3 vegetarian/vegan cafes, but better than nothing, right?
    Take care! (>.<)

  14. Maria : kiitos ! we're close to the ocean, it is easy to drive there whenever we want. you've been in my thoughts x

Anna : yes but i'm so sorry i HAD to choose... my emails got delayed too and i don't feel good about that, especially i wanted to write before you move. i loved your "night curls" xo

Mervi : I think Finland had more sunny days this summer than we had, not too hard anyway because we had so very few. i hope we'll have an "indian summer" because i'm not ready at all for the lack of natural light !!

Ulla & Pauline : thanks so much to say that, i don't feel good about having neglected my emails & favorite blogs but we so need the sun that had been missing that it has become almost an health concern to go out & get our dose of vitamin D !! Loulou is the laziest cat ever !

Lucie : après juillet tel qu'il a été, ça nous a fait du bien tu penses :)

  15. Kristin : we needed to catch up after a rainy July, and as you said in your email, it's not over and the few last days count too :)

A little happier : celui-là est un gros paresseux, mais dans le genre ses maitres ne sont pas mal non plus ;D

Tracy & Tracy : thank you ! i hope there's still a little bit of time before the day becomes too dark, here the autumn can be really wet and i wish for an "indian summer"...

mecamo : danke & thank you for your email which will be replied when i'm back from a few days away this week... halas no it is not a vegetarian café but the name is "vegetarium café" however it was possible to have a plate of veggies/fruit with smoked fish. vegetarism is still a bit of a taboo word in France, we have much to learn from Germany ! 3 vegetarian places ?! it sounds good to me !

nest full of eggs : you said it ! and this one was not in the sun ! however we had thunder just a few hours after the photo ! anyway i'm so happy with this sunny spell :) school starts next week so i'll be back fully ... next week !

  16. I love to get lost in your photos Valerie. I'm always so happy to see a new post from you! Right now I really need these photos to remind me of how much I love France. Somedays, I forget about my routine when I lived there, and when I come on here, it all comes flooding back :) Thank you!

  18. valerie, oh i completely understand! please no worries! i missed seeing some friends before leaving too. one friend is off to canada and i didn't even get to say goodbye. but it has been one really busy summer and you just can't do everything! i am glad you liked the curls! i tried that other method from the youtube video you posted and it didn't work so well, but i think it is because my hair isn't long enough. that, or i should have waited until a few days after i washed my hair. anyway, it's nice to find a way to do my hair without heat!! also, we move on saturday! loading up the big moving truck on friday so hopefully we have some time on saturday to go buy a bed and a couch! ok now that i've hijacked your lovely post, i'm going now...! we'll catch up soon. take care! xo
