corner view :: home sweet home ::

home is the word i have in front of my eyes everyday

today home sweet home was :
a sick mom looking after her (even) sick(er) child
a sick mom enjoying a craft table from the couch
a sick mom trying to decide what's for dinner (and that was purple rice)

home : refuge. valued place. native place. shelter. retreat. nest. the place in which one's domestic affections are center.  i'm an old fashioned girl who believe  h o m e  is always what comes first, wherever it is. plain & simple, there's no shame in saying it loud.
more home sweet home @ fuoriborgo
and sorry i'll visit you all only this weekend & next week when everybody here feels better. be well !

  1. what are you knitting right now?
    hope you feel better soon.

to answer your question on seed like knitting on my post, it is "kanoko"style knitting. do you know this? i am making a pouch with bottom hole in it. what kind of color is your favorite, valerie?

i noticed lavender in the big jar, it is nice. how do you use it? for cooking?

have a relax day. maybe visiting somewhere for window shopping to refresh air.

  2. ah, what are coincidence about sashiko!!
i love the combination of red on linen fabric. i would love to see your sashiko pillow..can you take picture?
i am thinking of using it as just kitchen towel when i finish. but i want to do more different pattern with another color for more sashiko..this is so fun.

is there place that you can buy sashiko thing in france?

  3. coco : i'm testing a cowl/snood for a blog friend who sells the pattern on Ravelry. i will google kanoko because no, i've never heard of it, but the pouch in progress looks very pretty.
yes i will take a picture of the little sashiko pillow. is yours red ? from the photo it looked pink to me ? mine is pink anyway ! i bought it on Etsy but i think, yes, in some large cities you can find some sashiko supplies, not a wide range but a few.
usually i'm into cold colors like grey, blue, and i love neutrals as well. what about you ?
oh and about lavender, well it is not lavender in this glass jar (alhtough i have some but not in the kitchen) it is organic purple rice -- that we enjoy eating :)
have a lovely day & thank you for the little chat xo

  15. I'm often surprised by how strong you are. Home must be a very important thing for you, home and family. I do hope that both of you get better soon.

It seems you're working on a nice project again! To answer on your question: Right know I use a 1,5 hook. The cotton is too thick to go any smaller. I could do it, but I'd stare myself crazy at the stitches. The lowest you can go is 0,6 or 0,8 I think. I'd love to try that once, but I need to get the hang of the 1,5 yarn. I'm surprised how difficult it is at the beginning. I'm glad I know how all the different stitches look like.

Have a lovely start of the weekend, Valerie!

  20. thank you everyone. so relieved L. seems to feel a tiny little better this morning. because when a diabetic can't eat for too long....

the blue rabbit house : thank you for your support. 1.5 is still ok, I use 1.25 at the moment for a future necklace. at 1.00 it starts being hard on my fingers and I don't own any 0.75 or the smallest 0.5. I'll be curious to know what you think once you have tried these :)

Bonnie : thanks so much. I WILL visit.
