you've already been hit so hard and have more on your shoulders than your friends. i can't tell you well enough how proud of you i am and how much i love you. so just let me borrow a few lines of a song for you as you blow your twelve candles

you said you'd remember lighting a few sky lanterns on the beach at night & watching them disappear over the ocean (i wouldn't recommend to do this inland) for a long time... i'm glad you liked the surprise.
